Stonewall (Texas)

Stonewall is a town in the Central Hill Country region of Texas, west of Austin and east of Fredericksburg. It is a small country town that welcomes visitors to the historic LBJ Ranch, once known as the Texas White House.

Stonewall is a tiny town, with a population of about 450 people (2020), it's really little more than a village. It is about 15 miles east of Fredericksburg and about 64 miles west of Austin on US Highway 290.

Named after Civil War General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, the town is most famous today as the home of former U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson.

You'll want a car to get in and around town, otherwise you'll be doing a lot of walking since there's no taxi or public bus service.
