Northwest (Rio de Janeiro)

The Northwest of the state of Rio de Janeiro is the region furthest from the state capital. It borders the so-called North region to the southeast, the Serrana to the southwest, the state of Espírito Santo to the northeast, and the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais to the north and west.
