East Tyrol

East Tyrol (German: Osttirol) is in Tyrol, Austria. It encompasses the area between the Hohe Tauern mountains in the north (Glockner and Venediger groups) and the Carnic Alps in the south. It is synonymous with Lienz district. It is separated from the rest of Tyrol by parts of Salzburg State and parts of Italian South Tyrol.

  • via Brenner through South Tyrol ( Pustertal ) to Sillian and Lienz
