Burra (South Australia)

Burra is a town of 920 (2021) in South Australia's Clare Valley region. It is most known for its Cornish mines, which have been on the tentative list for UNESCO World Heritage since 2024.

Get in

Burra is 2 hours north of Adelaide (about 166 km from Adelaide CBD) via the M2 Northern Expressway. Continue on until you reach A20 Gawler Ring Road and then exit onto A32 Barrier Hwy/B82 Horrocks Hwy. Stay on A32 Barrier Hwy for 110 km (about 80 minutes) until you reach Burra. From Port Wakefield, it's an 80-minute drive east via B84 and A32.
