Bangaon
Bangaon (Bengali: বনগাঁ Bangam̐) is a town of 110,000 people (2011) in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. It acts as a stopover to places like Bibhutibhushan Wildlife Sanctuary and Petrapole.

- 🌍 House of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, Barakpur. The modest single-storey house with three rooms was the primary residence of Bengali novelist Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay, known for novels like Pather Panchali and Chander Pahar. His original childhood home in Barakpur was destroyed in a storm, so he bought a new one two plots away in the 1930s. After the death of his son Taradas on 2010, the house became derelict for some time before being repaired and converted into a museum by Taradas's son Trinankur. Free.
